GBDC Provides Basic Schools with Book Booths stocked with Assorted Reading Books

Shai Osudoku Municipal Director of Education a Book Booth stocked with assorted reading books

Ghana Book Development Council (GBDC) has provided some Basic schools with book booths stocked with assorted reading books. The beneficiary schools included those which participated in the Council’s reading festivals as well as its year-long reading sessions in the Basic schools. The essence was to help them continue the reading exercise even as GBDC move to other districts or communities which are yet to benefit from the exercise.

All the beneficiary schools were full of praise as the exercise eliminates one of the barriers to a thriving reading environment. The book booth project aims to provide book booths to public Basic schools to either supplement the school library (where it exists) or serve as a library (where there is none).
