Books play a very essential role in our development as individuals and as a country. They form a basis of transforming society into a knowledgeable community through the provision of information, knowledge, wisdom and pleasure.
The Ghana Book Development Council (GBDC), an Agency under the Ministry of Education, is undertaking a reading promotion programme in the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipality in the Greater Accra region. Some of the beneficiary schools include Teiman St. James Anglican Basic school, Otinibi Basic school, Danfa Methodist Basic school, Pantang Presby Basic school, and Presec Staff '3' & '4' primary school.
The Ghana Book Development Council (GBDC), in collaboration with the Ghana Association of Writers (GAW), has organised a creative-writing workshop for some selected senior high schools in the Greater Accra Region. The workshop which took place on February 14, 2020, at Accra Girls Senior High School, was geared toward generating interest in reading and creative writing among students in the senior high schools.
