GAWBOFEST 2023 took place in Accra as Part of the Celebration of AWBC,23

In the heart of Accra, Ghana, in the month of September 2023, the Ghana Association of Writers Book Festival (GAWBOFEST) began with the celebration of all things literary. This year was exceptional, as it coincided with the celebration of the Accra World Book Capital, 2023, title year. The festival to ran from September 19 to September 21, with three enchanting days of literary bliss.

Accra World Book Capital 2023 - Mobile Library Service to Communities

Led by the Ghana Library Authority, a Mobile Library Service Team visited James Town on 4th August, 2023 to engage children in the community in reading activities. This was part of activities earmarked towards the celebration of Accra World Book Capital, 2023. The team was joined by the Greater Accra Regional Head of the Ghana Library Authority, Mr. Edward Addo-Yobo,  and Mr. Abdul Dayan from UNESCO Accra Office.

AWBC, 23 Book Review Session at Tema Senior Secondary School

Accra World Book Capital, 2023, as part of its activities earmarked for the year, in collaboration with the Ghana Association of Writers, held a book review programme for students from selected Senior High Schools in Tema on Sunday, 30th July 2023.

The book reviewed was Ama Ata Aidoo's A Girl Who Can.

Present at this event were The Geater Accra Regional Director for Education, some Metropolitan Directors for Education, Heads and teachers of the selected schools.
