The Executive Director, Mrs Ernesticia Lartey Asuinura, has visited the founding Head of the Department of Publishing Studies - Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Professor Frederick T. Mate, in his retirement home in Accra. She was led by Mr Isaac K. Appiah, currently a senior lecturer at the Department and a former student of Professor Mate. Mr Isaac K. Appiah was also one of the first batch of ten students to be granted admission by the Department of Publishing Studies.

Professor Mate, who is ninety-three years old, vividly recounted the beginnings of the Department, including the active role of UNESCO in setting up the Department to train human resource for the book industry in Ghana and Sub-Saharan Africa. Professor Mate could not hide his joy and expressed his profound gratitude for the visit. He shared some good advice with them. They also wished him well.
