The Ghana Book Development Council participated in the 2022 National Education Week at the Accra International Conference Centre, from 10th to 13th October 2022.
This year's theme centered on ‘Re-Assessing Educational Policies for Effective Service Delivery and National Transformation’.
A Stakeholder Consultation was held on Thursday, 13th October 2022 at the Department of Publishing Studies-KNUST, Kumasi, to discuss and review the draft of the National Book and Reading Policy (NBRP).
The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on 12th September 2022, in a pre-recorded speech, informed participants of the Regional Conference of African National Commissions for UNESCO of Accra’s designation as the UNESCO World Book Capital, 2023. He used the platform to invite participants to join Accra, Ghana during the yearlong celebration.
The Ghana Book Development Council (GBDC) in collaboration with the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC) and Ghana Library Authority (GhLA) organised a second Stakeholder Consultation Meeting to review and discuss the draft of the National Book and Reading Policy on Friday, 9th September 2022.
