19th Ghana International Book Fair, which took place at the National Theatre from August 25th to August 28th, 2022

The Ghana International Book Fair (GIBF) is an annual event organised to celebrate the rich Ghanaian culture through books.

The theme for the 19th GIBF was “Reforming the Book industry for the Future Generation”, visit our media gallery for some scenes from the book fair.

GBDC VISITS THE FOUNDING HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLISHING STUDIES

The Executive Director, Mrs Ernesticia Lartey Asuinura, has visited the founding Head of the Department of Publishing Studies - Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Professor Frederick T. Mate, in his retirement home in Accra. She was led by Mr Isaac K. Appiah, currently a senior lecturer at the Department and a former student of Professor Mate. Mr Isaac K. Appiah was also one of the first batch of ten students to be granted admission by the Department of Publishing Studies.

UESD Community Development Challenge

The Ghana Book Development Council (GBDC) has supported the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) "Community Development Challenge' with assorted reading books as award for the winners of the competing schools. One of the purposes of the 'Community Development Challenge' which was organized for some basic schools in the community is to assist in educating future leaders on environmental sustainability.
